In 1962 my grandparents Honess and Fay and my father Buffy, started their own funeral business. With a £1,000 loan from a close family friend, Parker King, they purchased this 1950 Single Spinner Ford hearse from Graham Watkins funeral directors in Narrandera, NSW. They replaced the Ford five years later with a brand new 1967 Chevrolet Impala. This photograph was taken during my first few months of work in 1977. My father Buffy and I are about to leave on a funeral service.
